On 23 February 2023, on the occasion of the UNESCO Global Conference "Internet for Trust", Giacomo Lasorella, Chairman of the Italian regulator AGCOM, signed a joint declaration as Chairman of ERGA, which was also supported by the French regulator Arcom as Chairman of the Francophone network of media regulators - REFRAM. The statement was supported by the other networks of media and online safety regulators: African Communications Regulators Network (ACRAN), Global Online Safety Network (GOSRN), Mediterranean Network of Regulatory Authorities (RIRM), Platform and Francophone Media Regulators Network (REFRAM), Platform of Ibero-American Audiovisual Regulators (PRAI).
The signatory networks expressed their full support for the objectives of the UNESCO Global Conference on the Protection of Democracy and Human Rights and the proposal to develop further consultations aimed at adopting guidelines on regulatory access to digital platforms.
