International agenda

At the core of the Council for Media Services' international work is its participation in the two most important networks of media regulators in the European context - the European Regulators Group for Audiovisual Media Services (ERGA) and the European Platform of Regulatory Authorities (EPRA). The importance of the Council for Media Services' international activities increases with the number of new legislative acts (especially on the EU level) and initiatives in the field of broadcasting, retransmission and regulation of online content, particularly on content and video-sharing platforms.

The regulator continues to lead the ERGA sub-group on disinformation. In conjunction with its position in ERGA, it continues its active involvement in the Standing Working Group under the Code of Practice on Countering the Spread of Disinformation in 2023. The Council for Media Services will work with the European Commission and ERGA to monitor the commitments in the Code and will publish evaluation reports.

In the wake of the terrorist attack on Zamocka Street in Bratislava, the Council for Media Services has become actively involved in international groups such as GIFCT and Christchurch Call, which aim to curb the spread of extremist and terrorist material online. The regulator is in contact with other relevant bodies and institutions in its areas of activity.
