The Council will register complaints for review within five working days of their receipt and will notify the complainant thereof, normally in the same way as the complaint was received.

The Senate of the Council shall take note of the content of the complaint and discuss it at its meeting no later than 90 days from the date of its registration. They shall inform the complainant of the outcome of the examination.

A complaint for review is submitted if there is a breach of the Media Services Act through 

• the broadcasting or provision of a programme, other component of a programme service or other component of an audiovisual media service on demand (AVMSoD), 

• broadcasting in breach of the terms of a broadcasting authorisation or licence, 

The Council for Media Services reviews content that has been 

• broadcast on television and radio,
• provided by an audiovisual media service on demand, 
• and provided through a content-sharing platform.

Broadcasting

The Director is the executive body of the Regulator, elected and dismissed by the Council. They act on behalf of the Regulator towards the employees in labour relations and manages the activities of the office.
