The Council for Media Services is a state administration body with nationwide scope, responsible for overseeing compliance with legal regulations governing broadcasting, retransmission, the provision of audiovisual media service on demand and the provision of content-sharing platforms.
The mission of the Council for Media Services is
to promote the public interest in the field of broadcasting, retransmission, the provision of audiovisual media services on demand and the provision of content-sharing platforms
to protect freedom of expression, the right to information and the right of access to cultural values and education
to exercise state regulation in the field of broadcasting, retransmission, the provision of audiovisual media services on demand and the provision of content-sharing platforms.
The Council for Media Services shall carry out its activities independently and transparently in accordance with the objectives of the Media Services Act, which include, in particular,
media pluralism
cultural and linguistic diversity
consumer protection
accessibility, non-discrimination, the proper functioning of the internal market and
the promotion of fair competition.
