Four new members have joined the Platform Media Literacy+

During the last meeting of the Platform Media Literacy+, held online on 17 August 2023, four prospective members presented their media literacy activities to the platform's Members and Observers. Representatives of the Slovak Debate Association, Infosecurity.sk, MEMO98 and the Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs of the Slovak Republic agreed in their presentations that their primary motivation for joining the platform is to share information and best practices in the field of media literacy, as well as the possibility of cooperation between members.

"We see media literacy, or rather its strengthening, as one of the key tools that can help in the long run to address the issue of disinformation and hybrid threats, especially at the level of cognitive security," said Peter Dubóczi, editor-in-chief of Infosecurity.sk, which has been dealing with the topic of disinformation from several perspectives for a long time. Membership of all four candidates was approved by the platform members by a silent procedure.

Platform Media Literacy+ has thirty members and nine observers from state and public administration, the non-profit sector, educational and research institutions, media and creative industry.
