Stanislav Matějka was elected as the Vice-Chair of EPRA, and the Council for Media Services confirmed its strong position among European regulators

Bratislava, June 2, 2023

Stanislav Matějka, the Head of the Analytical Department at the Office of the Council for Media Services, was elected as the Vice-Chair of the European Platform of Regulatory Authorities (EPRA) for a two-year term. EPRA is the oldest and largest professional association of regulatory authorities for radio and television broadcasting, bringing together regulators from fifty-three countries worldwide. At the 57th EPRA meeting, which took place in Oslo, Norway, Matějka received support from over forty participating countries.

"I perceive the election result as further recognition of the contribution of the Council for Media Services to European regulatory practices. I appreciate that the Slovak regulator is consistently regarded as a reliable partner, ensuring expertise and stability," commented S. Matějka. He is the second Slovak representative in the EPRA presidency. Former long-time Director of the Council for Media Services (previously the Director of the Office of the Council for Broadcasting and Retransmission) Ľuboš Kukliš held the position of President in EPRA from 2021 until the completion of his term as the Director of the Slovak regulator.
